Potato Cabbage Vegetable

The easiest recipe of potato and cabbage

I’ve prepared the simplest cabbage meal for you today using just two ingredients: salt and turmeric. It’s an old recipe, so feel free to add more spices if you’d like; I didn’t. That’s what I did—I prefer to consume less spice.

There are many different methods to make cabbage curry, and some people add garlic, onion, ginger, and many other things. However, today I prepared it without any of those components.

You may offer full chapatti with naan flatbread by preparing this veggie.

If you have cooked potatoes ahead of time and are in a rush to get to work, you may pack the veggies in your own lunchbox or your child’s lunchbox. It will take nine minutes.

This veggie tastes so good that you won’t believe it until you are told. Try it at home and let us know how it turned out by leaving a comment below.

There are several ways to prepare cabbage curry: some include uncooked potatoes, while others add onion and garlic. However, I prepared it by boiling the potatoes, roasting the cabbage, combining the potatoes, adding the salt and turmeric, and then, to improve the flavour, adding a tiny bit of garam masala. Now let us begin to think about the cause of the delay.

Ingredients

  • Cabbage – 500 grams

  •  Potato – 2 – 4

  •  Tomato – 1

  •  Salt – 1 tsp

  •  Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

  •  Garam masala powder – ½ tsp

  •  Green chilli – 3 – 4

Directions

  • The first step in making the simplest cabbage dish is to boil the potatoes.
  • We will now split it into large and little pieces. You can use your hands to break it or a knife if you like.
  • We’re going to heat up a pan now. Add the mustard oil and cook it as soon as it becomes hot. Pour the oil over the cumin seeds. Bay leaves are added when the cumin seeds begin to crackle.
  • Next, we’ll add the cabbage, put a lid on it, and cook it for a minute on high heat. Finally, we’ll season it with a small amount of salt, cover it, and set it on fire.
  • Add the potatoes and turmeric powder to the softened cabbage and continue cooking for a while. Next, add some salt to it, chop some tomatoes, and chop some green chilies into long or round shapes.
  • You may also add green chiles to the chhonka if you’d like. Since I’m cooking it for my kids as well, I’ll remove the chhonka before adding the green chilies.
  • Now put a lid on everything and simmer until the cabbage is tender. Turn off the burner, add the garam masala and sauté the veggie as soon as it begins to release oil.

Notes

  • You may also add coriander leaves if you’d like; but, because I don’t have any, I haven’t.
