Ingredients

  • Buckwheat flour – 250 grams

  • Peel and mash boiled potatoes – 125 grams

  • Black salt – 1 teaspoon

  • Water for kneading – as required

  • Ghee – 2 ladles

  • buckwheat flour for sprinkling on bread

Directions

  • The process for making buckwheat flour roti begins with placing the flour in a bowl, adding salt and potatoes to the top, and then using water to create a hard dough.
  • Potatoes are a good binding agent. After the dough has been kneaded, oil it, add a spoonful of ghee, cover it, and let it aside for half an hour.
  • Examine the dough thirty minutes later. Add a little ghee to the mixture if it appears sticky, then roll the dough into equal-sized little balls.
  • Now dust the area to be rolled with some dry flour, and use a rolling pin to make out some thick chapatis. Make sure each ball is prepared in the same way.
  • Let’s heat up a pan now. Place the rolled roti on the pan after it has cooked through.
  • Once one side has done, flip it over and cook the other side as well, pressing a kitchen serviette gently in the centre. Once it’s cooked through on all sides, remove and place on a kitchen towel.
  • After that, drizzle it with ghee and serve it hot with curd or baby potatoes. We’re ready to offer our steaming kattu wheat roti.
